Venue Report - Butley Priory

Last month I was lucky enough to meet up with Rose from Butley Priory.

Once part of a 14th century Augustinian Monastery (dating back to 1171), it later became a much-loved retreat of Henry VIII's sister, Mary Tudor (briefly Queen of France) and her suitor, the Duke of Suffolk. The house is set within an area of outstanding natural beauty in its own 7 acres of meadow and heathland.

As regular readers of my blog will know, I love a long tree lined entrance and Butley Priory didn't disappoint!

There are three wedding options available at Butley Priory;
  • Ceremony only
  • 5 hour day wedding
  • 48 hour wedding stay

The 48 Hour Wedding Stay includes accommodation for two nights in the house for up to 9 people. Up to 50 guests can be accommodated for a ceremony and wedding breakfast and an additional 30 can join the party in the evening. Prices start from £2750 for the 48 Hour Wedding Stay.

The resident caterers Spice Outside will put together a menu tailored to your requirements. Three courses start from £31.95.

If you have more guests you can hire the house and a marquee for up to 120 people with the 48 Hour Summer Wedding option from £4250.
